Sales Development Representative

Position Overview

 

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Digital Childcare, you will play a key role in generating and qualifying leads for our digital childcare management platform. This is a phone-focused, outbound sales role where you will engage childcare centres across Canada, introduce our solution, qualify interest, and book demos for the leadership team. This is a remote, part-time position ideal for someone who is confident on the phone, persuasive, organized, and motivated by performance-based goals.

 

Hours of Work

  • Part-time role: 20 hours per week
  • 4 hours per day
  • Available shift options:
    • 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (EST)
    • 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (EST)
  • Includes a total of 1-hour unpaid break
  • Hours may vary slightly based on outreach schedules and operational needs

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Lead Generation & Outreach

  • Make outbound sales calls to childcare centres across Canada
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads
  • Identify decision-makers and understand prospect needs
  • Book product demos for the leadership team

 

Sales & Communication

  • Clearly and confidently communicate the value of Digital Childcare
  • Handle objections professionally and persuasively
  • Build quick rapport with childcare administrators and decision-makers

 

CRM & Follow-Up

  • Accurately log all call activity, notes, and outcomes in the CRM
  • Send follow-up emails after calls
  • Add prospects to email sequences and manage ongoing follow-up

 

Performance & Collaboration

  • Meet daily and weekly outreach and demo-booking targets
  • Work collaboratively with sales, marketing, and leadership teams
  • Continuously improve outreach strategies based on feedback and results

 

Performance Expectations

  • Consistent daily outbound call activity
  • Weekly demo-booking targets
  • Accurate and timely CRM updates
  • Professional communication and follow-up
  • Ability to meet or exceed monthly SDR goals

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven experience making outbound sales calls
  • Strong persuasion, communication, and listening skills
  • Comfortable handling objections and rejection
  • Experience in lead generation, inside sales, or business development
  • Comfortable using CRM platforms to track calls, notes, and follow-ups
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a remote environment

 

Assets (Not Required)

  • Experience in the childcare or early learning sector
  • Background in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
  • Experience selling SaaS or technology-based products
  • Familiarity with tools such as Freshsales, Freshdesk, SendGrid, or similar platforms

 

Eligibility

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Applicants must be currently located in Canada
